Product Description

There are three types of tea - Green (unfermented), Oolong (semi-fermented) and Black (fully fermented). Oolong originated in the 18th Century in the Fujian Province of China. The dark green, well twisted leaf produces a mellow, pleasing liquor with a touch of greenishness. This is a delicate and mild tea, more earthy than typical green teas, and lighter than most black teas.

Tasting Notes

Beige, greens, browns and olive are the colours of the knotty pellets. There are no open leaves. On infusion, the full tender leaves remain closed but are olive green and khaki in colour. Bright gold in colour. The robust aroma of linseed oil and straw bales is unique and incredibly attractive - it conjures a visual image of an artist painting an autumn scene in the south of France. Alternatively, the aromas also allude to the signature peat taste of Isle of Islay malt whiskey. A very racy tea with the lingering taste of roasted corn and rice, some toastiness and a bitterness on the back palate.
