Being the fortunate winners of the Golden Ticket has been one of the most incredible experiences we have ever had. It was special in so many ways. From the very first moment I opened the Tea box and saw the Golden Ticket, I had to read it several times before I could truly believe that we had won. From that moment on, an incredible adventure began. As soon as we arrived in Colombo, we started experiencing the wonderful hospitality and luxury that awaited us. The next day, we began our journey towards Ceylon Tea Trails, a dreamlike place that was perfect for relaxing and reconnecting with nature. Everything about it was magical: the morning mist, the beautiful surroundings, the peaceful atmosphere and the incredible aromas that filled the air.
We were welcomed with so much warmth and kindness, and every meal was exquisite, worthy of its Michelin Star. The following day, we had the opportunity to visit the tea factory and gain a deeper understanding of the hard work, dedication and passion that go into every cup of tea. Seeing the entire process and learning about the people behind it made the experience even more meaningful.
Now, it was time to set off for our next destination: Wild Coast Tented Lodge. And what an adventure was waiting for us there! The landscape changed completely as we left the tea plantations behind and travelled towards Sri Lanka’s southern coast. Once again, we were surrounded by exceptional hospitality, delicious food and unforgettable experiences. One of the highlights was going on safari in Yala National Park, where, together with our wonderful guide, we had the chance to see Sri Lanka’s incredible wildlife up close, elephants, leopards, crocodiles and, of course, the cheeky monkeys. As the sun began to set, we enjoyed cocktails overlooking the coast, with the sound of the ocean in the background. That evening, we had dinner by the shore, listening to the waves as they rolled onto the beach. As I write this, I find myself smiling and feeling incredibly emotional while remembering everything we experienced.
We will never forget this extraordinary journey. I have no words to fully describe everything we experienced in Sri Lanka: the breathtaking landscapes, the wonderful cuisine, the fascinating wildlife and, above all, the warmth and kindness of its people. Without a doubt, it was a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
We feel deeply grateful and incredibly fortunate to have been part of this unforgettable journey.
